Week 7 - Seven Habits
This week had a lot of good insights with the reading from the lesson and also finishing the book on Mastery. Out of the seven habits a few of them stuck out to me and were great reminders. At a past job I worked at for almost six years we had workshops on these seven habits and how we could better apply them to not only our work lives but our personal lives. I would meet with my boss every 3-6 months and we would create a win/win worksheet together so we could be on the same page with goals and ways to have a win/win at the end of each quarter.
I really enjoyed learning how to apply a win/win worksheet in the workplace and how it is so important to work as a team and bring positive energy. I also liked being reminded to begin with the end in mind to help you be productive. I know for me personally this vision has helped me through task and learning skills that I was not looking forward to. I feel it is important to enjoy what you do and reading the book Mastery reminded me that we should find contentment in even the smallest menial task.
In the passion versus money it was a great reminder to me of how much more you enjoy going to work if you have that passion for what you do. Of course there will be task involved in every job that you may or may not enjoy but overall I learned that if at the end of the day you can say you truly love being a part of that company and enjoy what you do.
Overall these week was full of great reminders to re-fuel and help with forward thinking in the different things I have going on in my life. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and be reminded of the importance of even the small of things.
