Week 12 - Becoming a change maker

This week had a lot of great content with the book and the articles.  I loved Elder Hollands talk of "Are we all not beggars."  Understanding that each of us can make a difference in this world, even if it is just with one person can go a long way.  I think that often we may affect or help people and not even be aware of it and what we are providing.  Being a loving spouse, a good friend, a great parent alone can make all the difference in this life.

With the article about making this a poverty free world I thought most of the concepts are interesting.  Especially because I sit here thinking well a lot would need to change in this world for this to happen.  When really I should be thinking what can I do to make a difference in others lives with helping the poor and needy.  If everyone in this world took the time to make a difference with just one person in their lives we would live in a very different world. Love and kindness can go along way.

I also really enjoyed reading the book the Hero's Journey as there was some insightful chapters and stories of things to think about.  My favorite was understanding our skills and talents of what we can do to contribute.  Also, liked how it talked about putting habits in place so that when you are in certain situations you know what your decision will be as you have already thought about it.  I know that this is helpful as I have used it throughout my life and am grateful that I had made up my mind about how I wanted to live my life when getting into some tough situations.
