Week 11 - Financial Fitness
I really enjoyed the readings from this week and the different topics discussed. The one thing that really hit me was the balance or work and home life. Just like in the examples of the mini cases this week I feel that having this balance can be a tricky thing.
When I worked at Suntec Concrete for 6 years, I really struggled to balance personal and work life as I was so involved with work and always put that first. It was over time and some hard trials that I realized I needed a healthier balance so I could take care of me. Leaving that job was a hard thing but also a wake up call for me that I needed to be able to balance my life better.
I really enjoyed reading the article about people's attitude with money. It is so true that money does not buy happiness as we have seen from so many examples over time that you have to choose to be happy with or with out money. Money can provide a sense of accomplishment and security but it is up to us how we feel about ourselves and our lives without money taking part. I have been blessed so much in my life with opportunities to provide for myself and have a sense of security. I feel I can often take this for granite and am thankful for the blessings the lord provides me on a daily basis.
