Week 9 - Disciple Leadership

I really enjoyed a lot of things from the reading this week.  My favorite article was "A message to Garcia" and how it talks about self discipline and not questioning your leader when given a task.  This really hit me as it is easy to question things that your boss or leader is asking you to do.  But when I  was reading this I thought why do we question and not just do.

Leading with a small "l" really hit me as well as it is so important to lead by example and to lead with love being a disciple of Christ.  I think we often forget these simple things when someone upsets us or does not react the way we expect.  But ultimately it is our actions that matter in these situations and how we choose to react.  Looking back I of course can think of times in the work place I wish I would have acted differently and not have questioned things.

Interviewing the entrepreneur I choose was also fun and a learning experience.  I have known Danielle for many years and have never taken the time to sit down and learn how she started her business and the challenges she experienced.  It was great to discuss these things with her and gain her perspective on being an entrepreneur and the challenges she faces.

I also loved the advice and ideas she gave me about moving forward with my career and future.  She gave me some food for thought with either event planning or project managing remotely and how there is a need for that in a lot of industries.  I have enjoyed the assignments and knowledge gained from these classes and are grateful to be a part of it.
