Week 4
This week I really enjoyed finishing the book "Launching Leaders". There was so many good stories and principles in that book that I had heard before but felt that I needed to be reminded. It is interesting that you can read a book two different times in your life and get different things from it each time you ready it. This is one of the reasons I feel we are so encouraged to read our scriptures daily as each time we come across an account it may sit with us different than it did before.
Of all the things we read and learned from this week I really enjoyed learning the formula. It was a chapter in the book we discussed and also on a video. My favorite step that really hit me was finding your oil. I think it is so important to know what motivates and drives you, which goes right alongside doing what you love. I have had times where I have struggled to find my oil and know what it is, I want to be doing, but when I do life has so much more satisfying.
The one activity I struggled with is the fear activity. It hit me that I do not think of my fears very often as I learned a time ago when I let my fears get to me that I did not want to be in that place ever again. So, when a fear comes to my mind I often quickly replace it with something of hope and faith. This has really helped me to overcome some trivial fears that I have had.
I really enjoyed digging deep and writing down my core values. I look forward to evaluating them and creating goals and action items that coincide with the values I choose to focus on at this time. It was great to be reminded of the importance of checking in on your progress and adjusting as needed to reach your ultimate goal.
